OPEN CALL
for the exhibition CHANGING Realities – Images of a World in Transition
I. General Information
* OPEN CALL to participate in the exhibition CHANGING Realities – Images of a World in Transition in the context of the 6th European Month of Photography 2014 at the subway station Berlin-Alexanderplatz
* Duration of the OPEN CALL: June 10 – July 30, 2014
* Application deadline: July 30, 2014, 24:00 CET
* All professional photographers, photoartists, and students of photography are encouraged to submit work. There are no restrictions on age or nationality.
* All proposals selected by the jury will be rewarded with an expense allowance of 250€.
II. Theme Outline
We are looking for photographic series focusing on the theme of the exhibition CHANGING Realities – Images of a World in Transition.
III. Application
* The submission of projects is only possible via the online form.
* For the processing of submissions we need to charge a handling fee of 15€. This helps us to cover the costs of the project.
The following documents and data must be received completely by July 30, 2014, 24:00 CET:
* 5-10 images of a contiguous series, including titles or captions
o size 1800 pxl longer side, 150 dpi
o saved as jpg
o RGB or greyscale image, no CMYK
o with an embedded color profile
o maximum 1MB per image
* Brief summary of the project (max. 600 characters)
* Detailed description of the project (max. 1,800 characters)
* Curriculum Vitae (max. 1,800 characters)
Please Note: No high resolution print data may be submitted for the application; these will be requested only after the jury session. For the printing of the exhibits we need TIFF-files with an original resolution of 30 x 40 cm at 300 dpi.
Each participant may submit up to three projects. A separate online form must be used for each submitted project.
IV. Selection Process
A jury of experts will elect 20 photographic positions from all the properly submitted entries for the exhibition at the Alexanderplatz.
The exhibition CHANGING realities will present one image of the selected series in the format of 250 cm x 350 cm. This photograph will be chosen by the jury. The exhibition will be accompanied by a project website, on which the series will be presented in its entirety with all images and a brief text describing the series as well as the biography of the artist.
